What is time-to-performance?

Time to proficiency, or time to performance, is the time it takes to bring the new employee to a targeted level of task performance, to be independently productive on key performance indicators (KPIs). In other words, it refers to the time needed by a new employee to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to reach the wished and targeted level of performance.


Why monitor time-to- performance?

The shorter time-to-performance an employee has, the quicker the employee can begin to contribute to the company which has a financial impact on the business, thus making it a compelling reason to monitor and improve.
