What is offboarding
Offboarding, or Employee Exit Management as it is also characterised in certain areas of business, describes the structured separation process when an employee leaves the company. Thus, deals with the formal processes concerning how the employee exits from the organisation. Examples of tasks in a offboarding process can be managing payments, exit/feedback interviews, work hand-over, referees etc.
Offboarding can either be an advocate or detractor for the organisation. If done properly and successfully, the offboarding process is a great way of making a noticeable enhancement to the talent management process and Employer Branding due to the opportunity to tap into the power of departing employees and making sure they leave with a positive expression of the company.
